I really do hate being the bearer of bad news...sometimes I think maybe I shouldn't talk about all the problems in our diets and should just focus on all the good food we should be eating.  But, to me that's an injustice....I truly believe people need to know WHY certain foods are just not healthy for us.  I will give you the facts about certain foods, and then it's up to you to make the right decision for you and your family.

Anything with a face and a mother is not healthy for us to eat.  I have given you lots of information about beef, pork, chicken and turkey.....now let me give you some facts about fish.

Now, please don't roll your eyes, like most people do, and think life just isn't worth living if I'm taking "everything away". First of all, I'm certainly not taking everything away...to have optimal health and get off medications, I am asking that people stay away from animals products and fish.  Let's first discuss the issue of cholesterol....

FOOD               mg of cholesterol per 100 calories
Bass                          60
Crab                          55
Cod                           53
Mackerel                    51
Salmon                      40
Egg                            212
Chicken                      36
Pork                           38
Beef                           42

These values are, of course, approximate.  The chicken is based on skinless, boneless breast, the pork and beef are based on very LEAN cuts.  Obviously as you can see, the fish choices have more cholesterol......and when you visit your doctor and discuss cholesterol levels, one of the first comments most physicians make is, cut back on your meat and include more fish!  Again, physicians are not TAUGHT about nutrition.....it is very simple.

Now, leaving cholesterol behind, let me give you information on "wild fish" vs "farm raised".  We all think that wild fish is better for us.....none of the antibiotics and everything else that's pumped into farm raised fish is in the wild fish.  However, mercury is a natural element found in the earth and is released during certain manufacturing processes.  Mercury gets dumped into our rivers, streams and oceans and is converted into highly toxic methylmercury which becomes more concentrated as it accumulates up the food chain.

Fish at the top of the food chain have the greatest mercury concentration levels.  Which fish swim at the top of the food chain?
  • Fresh water pike
  • Walleye
  • Bass
  • Tuna
  • Salmon
  • Swordfish
  • Herring
  • Mackerel
  • Sardines

Now, these are the fish swimming around in the wild....let me give you some facts on farm raised fish:

Farm raised fish are crammed in fish tanks swimming around in all their waste products.  Because of these living conditions, these fish are pumped with antibiotics so they don't get sick and contaminate each other.

These fish are fed fish oils and fish meal made up of small fish which are taken from the CONTAMINATED seas, these fish are loaded with concentrated toxins.  They are also fed by-products rendered from COWS!!  Are you kidding??  Many people that follow a vegetarian diet eat fish.....so much for not eating beef!

Fish meal also contains palm, linseed and canola oils because they are CHEAP oils...obviously these oils are FAR FROM HEART HEALTHY.

As a result, you will be doing damage to  your arteries and increase your risk of a  heart attack and stroke.  There are many people that really don't like fish, but, they include it in their diet thinking it's good for them.....IT'S NOT!!

Don't force yourself to eat this....the only person benefiting if the person collecting the money for your purchase of this packaged cholesterol-laden, mercury/antibiotic/toxic chemical-loaded "health food".
