The quote above is from Hippocrates, The Father of Medicine, years and years ago, and it is the simple truth. I have witnessed over and over again, the power that food has on our health. Unfortunately, in this day and age of “modern medicine”, we as a nation are more sick now than we have ever been. I believe in getting to the root of the problem and abolishing the problem all together…..however, society accepts being diagnosed with a disease and taking a pill to “fix” it. It is never really fixed…We will continue to have whatever disease we have been diagnosed with, and CONTINUALLY pay for the medicine to “control” it. Not to mention all the side effects from the drugs. Have you ever listened to a commercial on TV talk about the side effects of the drug it is advertising??
Some of the side effects are worse than the disease you are trying to control!! NO THANK YOU…To me, this is NOT acceptable. We do not have to live this way!! I am here to tell you when you change your diet, and I mean CHANGE it, miracles will happen. I know it is not easy to make major changes, but is it easy to live with aches and pains, arthritis, hypertension, heart disease, type II diabetes, not to mention the “c” word, cancer? I don’t have to tell you obesity is an epidemic and we are paying the price for this. Because so many people are overweight with all kinds of health conditions due to their weight, health care costs are phenomenal. We continually pay higher premiums because so many people are sick. We do not have to live this way. By changing what types of food we put in our mouths, we absolutely can live a HEALTHY life. By healthy I mean disease-free, having more energy than we can imagine, and feeling better than we ever have. I am talking from experience…my own and thousands of others that follow a whole-food diet. All that means is eating mostly foods that are not processed or chemically altered. When our bodies are given REAL FOOD, the changes that occur are nothing less than miraculous! You will start to lose cravings for processed foods, artificial foods, sugar, trans fats, (by the way, people think trans fats were banned..well let me tell you, read the labels…it will say 0 trans fats on the package; however, if you read the serving size it will say less than 0.5 mg per serving which the government allows manufactures to state, which leads us to believe there is no trans fat…if you eat more than 1 serving, you are getting trans fat), and will crave whole-foods. Your body craves the nutrition it gets from whole-foods. Just by eating a whole-food plant based diet, the diseases mentioned above are on their way to disappearing….it is nothing short of spectacular. The “side-effect” of eating this way is WEIGHT LOSS. The weight just falls off…..there are no counting carbs, fats, calories, etc. You eat as many vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, and whole grains as you want to! By eating these foods until you are full, there is no room for unprocessed artificial foods. In the medical practice that I work for, I make my green smoothies everyday for my co-workers. By the way, they are delicious!! I make different soups for lunch that are made with all kinds of vegetables, beans, quinoa, spices, etc., and EVERYONE loves them!! This is not a boring diet….on the contrary it is absolutely delicious. Believe me, I had some very strong critics that now can’t wait to see what we will be eating. And, as I mentioned above, the best side effect you can hope for is WEIGHT LOSS. In just one short week pounds and inches came off. Do you know what kind of motivation that is???
