I'm so excited you are here and ready to get off to a great start. First things first. We need to have a plan in place--fail to plan, plan to fail is my motto and it is sooooo true!
First, we need to start cleaning our "environment". That doesn't mean moping floors and scrubbing counter tops. What I'm talking about is we need to get rid of all the foods we will be avoiding starting FEBRUARY 1ST. That means, our cabinets need to be emptied of cookies, crackers, chips, candies, pastries, doughnuts, pies, cakes, etc., etc. Our refrigerator needs to be cleaned out--give away all the foods that will sabotage you on this journey.
If it's in the house, it's in our mouth. Willpower will only work for a short period of time. Eating this way is NOT about willpower. When you eat the "right" foods, there are no worries about how many calories, how big can portions beave, where's the protein...and the biggest MYTH that so many of us believe is--I can't eat potatoes, rice and fruit--I will get FAT!
WRONG. WRONG. WRONG!
If diabetics can eat this way, bring their blood sugar down and LOSE WEIGHT, then so can you.
This way of eating is about abundance, not deprivation. Please remember that.
But, we need to get our environment conducive to our plans...another words, we must be surrounded by the right foods all the time.
So, start cleaning out. Give all that "junk food" away to the kids in the neighborhood, or donate to a food pantry. I know so many of us hate wasting food, but believe me, that "food" is doing nothing for your health or your weight.
So our homework assignment for this week is----start cleaning our cupboards, the pantry and the refrigerator. Once February 1st hits, we want to be ready for this very exciting 30 day challenge!!
Just look at the beautiful colors we will be eating.......BUT, don't get nervous, we will be eating much more than just vegetables!!
